Clearwater Beach is always listed in the top ten beaches in the U.S. each year. Last year Clearwater Beach it was ranked #1 Family beach by the Travel Channel. I grew up in Clearwater/Seminole area and have been here since 1967. I have seen this beach grow each year. Clearwater Beach is going thru a lot of growing pains right now. They are currently working on building the Beach Walk project and with all the recent tear downs of some old hotels, Gulf Blvd south of the rouond-a-about is kinda dusty and doesn’t really look very beachy. However, north of the round-a-bout is really starting to take form. The Sandpearl Resort and Spa is scheduled to open in July or August 2007. The Sandpearl is the first beach front hotel built in Pinellas county in the last 25 years!! Can you believe that? It is suppose to be rate 4 diamonds and includes a Spa, 2 resturants and a pool on level with the beach. I have a 1 bedroom Penthouse suite on the top floor and will be renting it out come this September.
